Fragrance Literacy & Practice is an intensive 2-day course for fragrance lovers, aspiring brand owners, scent creators, sales professionals, and entrepreneurs who want to gain a real understanding of the field.
Over two full days, you'll study perfumery fundamentals that will enable you to analyze and describe fragrances using professional language. You'll smell a variety of raw materials and learn the processes that define modern perfumery.
You'll practice simple accord creation and finish the course by creating your very own first fragrance.

Develop Your Fragrance Literacy
Train your nose and learn to think about fragrance like a perfumer. Explore how we perceive scent, understand fragrance families and structures, and build the vocabulary needed to evaluate, describe, and discuss perfume with confidence.
Discover Fragrance Raw Materials
Work with the essential raw materials of modern perfumery—from naturals such as jasmine, ambergris, and patchouli to iconic aroma molecules. Learn what each material contributes to a composition and why perfumers choose them.
Learn the Fundamentals of Perfume Formulation
Understand how fragrances are built, balanced, and refined. Through guided practical exercises, you'll learn the principles of formulation, create simple accords, and gain insight into how professional perfumes are developed.
Perfumer’s Lab Essentials
Become familiar with the essential tools and workflow of the perfumer's lab. Learn best practices for weighing, blending, documenting formulas, scaling compositions, and working with a perfumer's organ.
Launch Your Fragrance Brand
Understand how a fragrance moves from concept to market. Explore the fundamentals of fragrance development, manufacturing, packaging, and the key considerations involved in creating and launching a fragrance brand.

Meet the instructor
Kate Grishko trained at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery, one of the world's leading perfumery schools, founded by PRODAROM in the birthplace of the modern perfume industry.
Since 2024, she has been promoting fragrance literacy in Dubai through a wide variety of scent experiences and programs, resulting in a network of over 100 graduates — perfume enthusiasts and fragrance professionals alike.
